SCCSS Vendor Barcode Order Form

This is an order form for barcode labels that can be used at South Coast Cactus & Succulent Society sales.
The label sheets that are created from this order can either be printed by SCCSS or emailed to you as PDF's that you can print yourself.
Note that none of the information you enter will be stored on this or any website.

The labels we use are 1.5in wide and 1 in tall, 50 per sheet, and are either plain matte or weatherproof.
You might need the weatherproof ones if you intend to keep the labels on for a long time, they are made of a plastic material. The matte labels are paper and are cheaper, we have found that they can stand getting wet but can be damaged if handled roughly while still wet and will probably not last as long as the weatherproof.
Example:

To cover our costs we will charge ...

  • PDF file - free
  • printed matte - $1.00 per sheet of 50
  • printed weatherproof - $1.40 per sheet of 50
Printed sheets can be picked up at any society meeting once the order has been processed.
If you need them mailed the club will charge $3.00 per shipment.

To move between inputs you can use the 'Tab' key or the little up/down arrows that show at the top of some mobile device onscreen keyboards. In the label quantity input boxes as well as entering numbers you can use up/down keys or a mouse wheel to change the value.

The UPC code and quantity boxes only accept numeric input.

The tab or window will be closed immediately. Any data entered will be lost.

The page will be refreshed using defaults. Any data entered will be lost.

This button will be disabled until you have filled in all the required inputs. Hitting Next will perform some validity checks then take you to a confirmation page where you can review the order and either accept it or return to this page to make further changes.

This section contains the information that will be on the labels and the quantities of labels needed.

This name will be on each label, next to the price. When a barcode is scanned at a checkout stand (like Square) the vendor code in the UPC code is looked up in the system and the corresponding vendor name is displayed.
The vendor name on the label does not have to exactly match the one in the scanning system but should be close enough so that checkout staff can verify the vendor. This is especially important if there are returns or disputes over pricing, etc.

When this order form is sent the vendor name will be checked against SCCSS records and if there is a mismatch you will be contacted.

The 5 digit vendor UPC code that has been assigned to you by SCCSS or by the CSSA.
If you have not been assigned a vendor code yet or are not sure what it is just leave this field blank.
It is imperative that this is the same as in the data in the checkout stand at a sale, otherwise proceeds will be sent to the wrong vendor.

When you submit this order form the vendor code will be checked against SCCSS records and if there is a mismatch you will be contacted. If you do not have a vendor code one will be assigned to you.

The text to use as a footer on each label just below the barcode. There should be some information on each label that allows customers to know who the vendor is in case they need to make contact. Reasons could be to purchase more from the vendor, to ask for growing tips. or worse to make a return.

SCCSS puts our website address in the label footer on our own labels, see the image in the help section 'Label size and material'. There is only room for 20 characters in this field, enough for a website address or a phone number.

If you leave this field blank we will put in southcoastcss.org, it's good advertizing and if a customer contacts us we can figure out how to relay any message to you. If you want it to be blank on the label please indicate by entering 'no', 'none', 'blank, 'n/a', etc.

See the help section 'Label size and material' for more information.
Weatherproof labels are slightly more expensive, around 50% more.

The recommended settings for printing are ...
Paper size: US Letter (borderless if available), Scale: 100%, Margins: None, Print headers: No.
Some applications may not have a setting for no margins, but might have a setting for Paper size: US Letter (Borderless) instead.

Unfortunately printing using an iPad, iPhone, or Android device may not be possible due to the lack of the ability to choose 100% scaling and/or no margins (borderless).
